I joined the staff in November, 1994 and I am currently the Chief Musician and Director of Audio-Visual.  I was born and raised in New Jersey (exit 14C!) and graduated from The Juilliard School with a Bachelor’s Degree in organ and a Master’s Degree in orchestral conducting.  I have served on the faculty of The Juilliard Pre-College Division and on the administrative staff of the school as well as teaching music courses at Schenectady County Community College. I made my Carnegie Hall debut in 1981 as Music Director and Principal Conductor of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of New York.  I have been a guest conductor of the St. Louis Philharmonic and resident conductor of the Juilliard Ballet Department.

Ordained an elder in 1998, I have been active in Albany Presbytery as Brunswick's regular delegate as well as serving on the Worship and Personnel Committees, Council, and most recently being elected to serve as one of the presbytery's delegates to the 2012 General Assembly.  I've also served as the Music Director for the Northeast Wee Kirk Conferences of Presbyterians for Renewal since their inception in 2003 and was recently a presenter on Contemporary Worship Music for the Capital Region Theological Center's Worship Conference held here at Brunswick.

Active for over forty years in church music and as an organ recitalist, my  wife, Deb, a professor of mathematics at Russell Sage College, and I reside in Brunswick with our twin daughters, Natalie and Alida.  In addition to my ministry here at Brunswick Church, I am actively involved in the community as a volunteer firefighter and EMS Captain with the Eagle Mills Fire Company and as a volunteer EMT with the North Greenbush Ambulance Association.
