Harry J. Heintz

I have been a pastor at Brunswick Church, Troy, NY, since September 1974.  I am married to Rachel Daily Heintz, father of Teressa Bala, who is married to Rajiv Bala, and Lisa Heintz; and grandfather (“poppa”) to Brennan and Evan Bala.  I earned degrees from Southern California College (now Vanguard University of Southern California), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Fuller Theological Seminary.

One of my favorite poems is Langston Hughes’s “Hold fast to dreams, for if dreams die, life is a  broken-winged bird that cannot fly.”  One of my favorite quotes is from Teddy Roosevelt: “Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the grey twilight that knows not victory or defeat.”  I believed the Red Sox would win a World Series before it happened.
